(This was supposed to be a private chat between Nneka and I on the 26th of Novemeber 2015. She never knew that she had actually given me an exclusive interview revealing why her boss dresses the way he does wearing khaki and red berret. The story went viral on social media and almost every sports page in Nigerian Newspaper..Enjoy it!!!)
“The honourable minister for Youth and Sports has disclosed the reason why he wears Khaki uniform to public places and public functions. “The Jos,Plateau state born Barrister at Law made this known
yesterday through his spokesman, Nneka Ikem Anibeze in a telephone interview that He, the Honourable Minister is fisrt of all an activist who cares for the welfare of the down trodden hence the genre of dressing he wears purposely to depict the struggle for the government to provide a better life for the people.
“Mrs Anibeze said his boss is a ‘Comrade’ and would like to be
seen as one.
He is a voice for the voiceless
who loves to fight for the hopeless and the down trodden.
That is just his style to show that the struggle continues wherever he finds himself and in whatever position.
“When asked if her boss would not
follow the steps of his predecessors (names withheld) with similar styles and philosophies which after getting the plum job from the federal government or became an incumbent governor succumbed to the new demand of the office they occupied which made them changed their mode of dressing to suit the present realities ?, Nneka said
“I trust my boss, he is as constant
as the Northern pole, he can and
will not change regardless of his
position that simply is his style.”
