Olubadan dies at 102

Tragedy struck last night in the ancient city of Ibadan when the news of
the death of Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba
Samuel Samuel Odugade odugade1 began to filter in

this morning that the monarch has actually gone to the world beyond.
Aged 102,the Oba was said to have died in his sleep at about 7:30 pm on Tuesday
night at his Monatan Iwo road Palace and his corpse was reportedly to have been
taken to the morgue immediately.
Oba Odulana who was crowned as the
39th Olubadan of Ibadan in 2007 after the demise of Oba Ogundipe and
the 17th since the title was upgraded from Baale of Ibadan to
Olubadan in 1930
His death is likely to throw more problems in to the Obaship lineage of
Ibadan since there are still unsettled rift in the promotion of 9 high chiefs
of Ibadan recently.
Balogun of Ibadanland,High Chief Saliu Adetunji is expected to be crown
as the 40th Olubadan of Ibadan according to the set rules in Ibadan
