As most team in the Nigerian professional league
geared up their preparation towards the 2016/2017 leagues, it is a different folks
for different strokes as Shooting stars Sports of Ibadan is engulf in yet another
pre -season crises which may lead to poor performance and there eventual
relegation back to the lower decision as we reliably gathered that the General
Manager of the darling team of Ibadan, Rasheed Balogun has decided to call it
quit with the Oluyole warriors for what it terms as government inadequate
funding of the team.
Harohkah.bolgspot.com reliably gathered that the state
government released the sum of 12 milion naira for the club instead of the
monthly subvention of 20milion to pay salaries and various outstanding which is
far below the expenses of the club.
About 11.5 million naira is said to cover salaries and
wages of staffs and the team which would lead them with nothing to have
adequate preparation for the 2016/2017 Nigerian Professional football league
set to kick start in febraury,2016.
According to our source,”Kulekule” as the GM is popularly called, is about to call it quit with the club in a crucial meeting which he held with the on Tuesday the 12th of january which ended at about
7pm saying he may no longer cope with the way the club is been
treated.
It is however not clear if the coach of the team, Gbenga
Ogunbote would remain while players had been leaving enmasse looking for greener pasture elsewhere as both players
and the technical crew are been owed
backlog of salaries and allowance.
According to our source who said It seems as if the
state would have to be looking for someone to manage the club as it seems the
GM is walking away from the job because of inadequate funds.
All effort to speak with the GM proved abortive as he did not pick his call as at the time of publishing this story.
