soldier intensify search for pipeline vandals…

Community, Gbaramatu kingdom,Warri South West Local Government Area, Delta state had a taste of what is
called “Federal might” when soldiers stormed their villages in search of
militants suspected to have started bombing oil and gas installations in the
area shortly after a Federal High court sitting in Lagos issued a bench warrant
for the arrest of ex- militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo
last Thursday.
“Operation Bring Back Tompolo” which
began around 10:45 pm on Saturday nigh,t saw various gun boats of the Nigerian
Soldiers who were working on the information that some of the boys sponsored to
carry out the attack were from Okpelama village arrived the community and
mounted surveillance on Kurutie, the hometown
of Tompolo and Oporoza, the traditional headquarters of Gbaramatu
kingdom.
They
broke into homes of the villagers, many of whom scampered into bush on sighting
them as they alighted the jetty front. According to report gathered by www.harohkah.com , the village of Okpelama
is more of ghost town as people are running away to Warri and other places
while some member of the community were still in the bush at about 7:30am on Sunday
morning
Chairman
of the community told reporters that soldiers came back on Sunday morning to
the community waterfront but did not enter the village.
