14 Akinola Maja Jericho office of Shooting
stars was pensive as staff and visitors were in a very low spirit, apparently still
in deep shock and disbelief over the death of Demmy who is suspected to have
been hypertensive and may have died due to high blood pressure.
“He
came to work after leaving the training pitch of the team early in the morning
as usual and had a meeting with the newly constituted marketing team of
Shooting Stars, shortly after he began to complain about chest pain around 11:00
am before the General Manager, Rasheed Balogun instructed 3SC’s driver to
take Demola in his personal car to the
hospital. Raheed Balogun in the company of Isaac Ibafidon, later visited him around 2:00pm and left
10,000 naira with him pending the time he will be back from Kaduna ,only to be
told that Demola gave up the ghost around 3:30pm
These
and many more facts were unearthed this morning when www.harohkah.blogspot.com.ng
paid condolence visit to the management of Shooting Stars on the demise of one
of his notable Marketing officer , Mr Ademola Abodurin who died on Friday ,21
st of January ,2016 ,at private hospital
in Ibadan. His remains has since been
deposited at a private morgue in Yemetu Ibadan.
Aged
of 58 years old, Demola was survived by a wife and two children, Oyindamola,
his first daughter who is stiil at the law school in Abuja while Olumide his
second son is a 200 level undergraduate at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago
Iwoye.
“Yes,
he was a high blood pressure suspect, I think the blood pressure rose to about
194 or there about before he was advised to go to the hospital, says our source
who prefer anonymity. He should have been given first aid before he left for
the hospital but unfortunately he ate and that must have aggravated the level
to about 200. I am not a doctor but I believe what would happen is bound to
happen and we have to submit ourselves to the will of God.
Another
of our source said that Demola was here joking as usual with one of our colleagues
planning to kidnapped the GM, claiming that if the plot is successful all the
club owner in Nigeria would donate money for the release of the General Manager
and we all were laughing not knowing that that would be the last time we would
laugh together, The guy that was with him (Sina) is still in the hospital
because he cannot believe Demola is dead.
Apparently
devastated, the media officer of Shooting Stars, Jubril Arowolo was incoherent
and still staring at Demola’s sit in the same office that they share in his
lifetime
“Ayo,
I can’t believe this is how people dies, do you know that all the activities we
had here from media to marketing was coordinated by both of us, I mean in the
last one week we were closer than before, on Thursday he was the one who
dropped at Mokola round about as usual and we planned to meet with Olalomi
Amole and Co who were hyping our activities on their program with a token from
both of us. I just have to tell them that Demola who was to come with me last Saturday
died of Friday.
“I
had no premonition that Demola has died because I came to the office briefly in
the afternoon, Our GM then called that we all should visit him at the hospital immediately
close from office and told us to tell him he can take today (Monday) off. We all
were on the road after we watched the match between Nigeria and Tunisia and
those who went ahead of us on a motorcycled called us in the car that Demola
has already packed up.
“I
can’t believe that someone I spoke to around 12:30 pm on Friday was the one
lying lifeless around 5pm.It was as if he was sleeping and I felt like just
telling him to stand up and let us go home. Not until we dropped him at the mortuary
without him complaining that it dawned on me that Demola is truly gone. He said
tearfully.
This
is a death too many for Sports Fraternity in Oyo state as Oladele Eweje a
former player of 3SC, Adekanola Ogunkola(wife of Bunmi Ogunkola a foremost
referee in Nigeria) and another sport enigma died and buried subsequently last
week in Ibadan.
On
hand to receive visitors on behalf of the club was the Club’s administrative
secretary, Alhaji Aransi and other staff of
