Why I left Wikki Tourists... Maikaba
By Ayo Ademokoya
Interference from the club’s management is sighted
as the major reason why newly appointed coach of Akwa United FC of Uyo, Abdul Maikaba
quits the good job he did with Bauchi based football outfit,Wikki Tourists FC by qualifying the team for the continental competition in the
2015/16 Nigerian Professional Football League season.
Maikaba who narrowly missed continental ticket for
Wikki last season by 2 goals aggregate to Nassarawa united FC, ended third position
this just concluded season and made it team the most prolific goal scoring team
with the best defence record in the country.
Maikaba left his job not because
he was not paid well or been owed but interference from the club management over
selection of his team, www.harohkah.blogspot.com.ng
confirmed.
‘Wikki is a very good club but I’m not always
comfortable when I am been told to use a player ahead of another player, this
is one freedom I want from Akwa United FC because at the end of the day I am going
to be responsible for anything that happens’ Maikaba was quoted while confiding
with our source.
