How my son died.. Pa Azu Joseph
Izu’s father accuses Joint Task force of extra judicial killing...
By Ayo Ademokoya..

Father of the slain Shooting Stars defender, Pa Azu Joseph has revealed how is son Izuchukwu Joseph was gruesomely shot to death by merciless group of JTF who must have mistaken his son and his friends for a militant group on at a jetty in Mahuda local government in Bayelsa where they had gone to catch fun and enjoy themselves. Five of them were shot while two died instantly.

In a telephone chat monitored by www.harohkah.blogspot.com.ng through our source who wishes to remain anonymous, father of the deceased revealed that Izuchukwu was home for the holiday after the end of the 2015/2016 Nigerian Profession Football league and went out with his friend on Sunday evening.
Izu who was caught in a friendly fire was in the pool swimming with his friend and had to run for cover but was fished out alongside his friend where they were hidden.
I learnt that my son pleaded with them and was asked to identify himself and despite the identification he was shot together with his friend and the most painful thing was that they took his phone and recorded him live writhing in pain till he was about to give up the ghost.
They later threw his body back into the river and left only for his some of his friends who escaped the wrath of the Joint Task Force rushed to rescue the five bodies thrown into the river and rushed them to the hospital. Unfortunately my son and the other victim died before getting to the hospital while the three boys are still in a critical condition.

‘The joint Task Force has killed the dream of my family by killing my second son. I demand justice for the death of my son whose body is still at the mortuary My first son told me that he was shot at his legs despite showing them his identity card as a player of Shooting stars of Ibadan without investigation, I’m in Port-Harcourt at the moment.’  Pa Azu broke into tears.
An renown sports editor who wishes to remain anonymous said that the death of Izu is very unfortunate and said that the boy must have been killed in retaliation for the loss of lives of several JTF soldiers who had been mercilessly killed by the hoodlums in that area.

‘You see Izu wears dreadlock and tattoo his body, apart from that Izu is a very aggressive player judging from the way he plays his game. Even on the field of play you will notice his anger and aggression as he was a very passionate player so all this would have accounted for the reason why the JTF decide to waste the poor boy. May be he was arguing with them or some sort of misunderstanding. He must have been mistaken for a militant because of his outlook which is a resemblance of this militant. Wearing dreadlocks and tattoos all over his body must be his offense.

‘It’s a shame that such an extra judicial killing is still very much rampant in our society and most especially in the Niger-Delta.
Izu Joseph joined 3SC four seasons ago and was instrumental in the promotion of 3SC from the Nigerian National league to the elite division of the Nigerian Professional League three seasons ago.
For the past two seasons Izu contributed immensely to the survival of 3SC at the elite level scoring vital goals even as a defender to keep the team afloat.

He is aged 25 and survived by a wife, a child and aged parent.
