Who
offsets Ikhana’s Bill?

The news of the appointment of the first
clas
s coach expected to tutor the darling team of Oyo state back to national and continental glory in person of Khadiri Ikhana, who unarguably is the most successful coach in the Nigerian Professional Football League is not with ado after all as the question of who shoulder the bill of the formal Enyimba International of Aba arise.
Though the coach who was introduced formally to the
team yesterday by the team General manager has agreed to a pay cut of about 600,000 naira less than his asking
price, unless the State Assembly who facilitated the hiring of the coach for 3SC, the management of the Ibadan warlord may still
find it difficult to meet with the monthly 1.2 milion naira basic salary of the
coach and the demand of a 5 star hotel accommodation since Khadiri Ikhana was
reported to have turned down the rented apartment given to him saying that he
normally stay in an hotel where ever he works.
According to investigation conducted by www.harokah.blogspot.com, Coach
Ikhana is undoubtedly a good choice for the club but a monthly salary of 1.2milion
naira plus a 5 star hotel accommodation is not realistic for a club whose
monthly allocation from the government has been reduced to the barest minimum.
These people from the House of Assembly believed that
there is money in Shooting stars, one of
them in the house committee on sport who was one here, thought that our
allocation is still as regular as when he was here.
When last did we receive up to a hundred million allocation
at once? Its not as easy for the club as they envisage because even the monthly
10 to 12 milion naira does not come till the end of the month, so how do we prosecute matches? At least we need to
offset salaries from the money, pay player and match bonuses as well as
cater for other miscellaneous spending, yet we would be paying for the accommodation,
salary and so much for the upkeep of the coach and its assistance.
Our source revealed that some of the top officials
of the club are still being owed November 2015 salary while players are still
been owed backlog of sign on fees, salaries and wages cum match bonuses
revealed our source, while staff still has outstanding to pay.
In fact some of the players went a borrowing from their
colleagues from a particular football club from the southwest plying their in
the Premier league side after the last preseason game last week.
Unless government increases the allocation of the
club or we have real alternative source of income, the House of Assembly who
hired the coach for 3SC may be the one paying or augmenting the salaries.
